Ottley Music School (OMS) is a multi-faceted musical learning institution that offers private lessons in piano, organ, voice and drama, stringed instruments (including harp and guitars besides the violin family), percussion, woodwinds and brasses, and classes in world instruments (including the Steel Drums or pans of Trinidad and Tobago and the African drums), and dance (ballet, tap, jazz, and soon to begin, line and hand dancing), as well as classes for pre-schoolers (in the Music for Little Mozarts program). OMS also offers summer music camps and institutes.
OMS has trained many successful citizens in all walks of life, and also renowned musicians over the past 38 years, some of which have returned after graduating from institutions of higher learning to serve as instructors or as advisors, or on the Board of Directors of the School. Since the study of music is a strong developmental tool for not only young but, college age and adults, we encourage anyone who wishes to attend the Ottley Music School to do so. OMS trains students of all ages from 4 years old through elementary and secondary schools, college age, adults and senior citizens. The students and the teachers come from the USA, Europe, Iceland, Asia, Africa, and the Pacific and Caribbean island countries. Teachers are trained, experienced and 95% are degreed instructors. Students of OMS not only learn to play and sing, but are prepared for auditions, competitions and pageants. They have the opportunity to play in monthly recitals, and advanced students appear in at least three OMS concerts annually, and in events around the region. Some students and teachers have traveled overseas to the UK, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean to perform. We invite you to bring your child, grandchild, grandparent, spouse (or important other), a relative, or yourself to enrich yours and their quality of life by doing something they need to do, and/or you have wanted to do for yourself. The music lessons are for all ages, from age 4 through childhood, teenage, college, adult and senior citizens. You child is welcomed whether they are homeschoolers or public schoolers, or private schooler attendees. Home schooled students can easily work lessons into their program. Studies have shown that children and youth who study music generally do not enter the penal system. One great way of reducing crime in our community is to make sure that music lessons are in the schedule of children and teenagers. It s difficult for a person to be shooting anything, a gun, an arrow, or shooting up drugs if they are playing an instrument or practicing singing or dancing. So, to the betterment of our community, for just pleasure for yourself, or for a greater development of your child's minds, please continue browsing, and contact us. |
